Almond Butter

Making almond butter is cheaper than buying it from a corporate brand.  If you can buy the almonds in bulk as well as the oil, its almost the same price as conventional peanut butter that may have unwanted additives and chemicals.

  • 1lb of bulk almonds
  • olive, peanut or another oil of choice
  • raw, unfiltered honey
  • salt
  1. Roast almonds at 400 degrees in the over for ten minutes.  Do not burn.
  2. After cooling, add almonds to a food processor or blender and process until very fine.
  3. Add oil 2 tbsp. at a time and blend or process until oil is mixed in.  Keep doing this until consistency is as desired.
  4. Add honey and salt to taste. Honey will dry out the mixture so you made need to add more oil.
